TrophyForget the fishing stories, tell me about the time you won a trophy or medallion (or choose your favourite one to write about). What was it for? When did you win it? What does it look like? How did you feel when you won it? Where do you keep it? If you have a photo of you with your trophy, send it or give it to me for “The Brag Bench” page. If not, draw a picture of it for me to scan. Get cracking kids, tell me about this proud moment in your life!

Okay all you fishing enthusiasts, tell us the story of your best catch, ‘the one that didn’t get away’ and if you like, submit a photo to “Bragging Rights”, viewed from our opening page. (You can email me digital images or forward paper copies to be scanned and returned).

Just for fun, why don’t you submit your funniest joke? Make sure it’s one that we can all enjoy and that won’t offend anyone. Year 3s, now that you know what to do, you can send them from home. Let’s hear those ‘funnies’!

Like all small towns everywhere, Dampier has relatively few community facilities. I’d love for us to have an Amphitheatre, like this one at Bruce Rock, with a proper shell for sound and lighting and space for both formal and informal seating. The school could use it for its big annual events i.e. the Anzac Service, Presentation Night, our Dampier Idol Final and the community could use it for special occasions too e.g. Carols By Candlelight, musical evenings that wouldn’t have to end at sunset.

What would you really like to see in Dampier? Obviously, a tidal pool is getting some support. Here’s one in Malabar, NSW and the other in Kingscote, Kangaroo Island.

Well, we’ve all had our holiday and I’m sure there was one day that was a little more special than the others. For me, it was having my birthday with my Mum and Mr Mitchell’s family while in Victoria. The restaurant opened especially for us and they just kept bringing out the most wonderful food, culminating with this ‘gorgeous’ orange yoghurt cake. It was such a treat and in the nicest company imaginable!

What was your holiday highlight and why was it so special?
